Obituary of Robert Arthur Kramer

Robert A. "Bob" Kramer, age 67 of Jefferson, died of cancer on August 2, 2011. Born on January 21, 1944 in Fort Atkinson, the son of Al Kramer and the late Ruth (nee Zimmermann) Kramer. Bob married Elli Doeberlein on June 19, 1965 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson. After graduating from Jefferson High School on June 3, 1962, he worked at Coast to Coast Store in Jefferson until starting Safari Sporting Goods in 1972. Bob was involved in many organizations, which included helping start the Cub Scouts at St. Mark's where he was a member of the church council for many years. He also was a lifetime member of the NRA, charter member of Jefferson County Pheasants Forever, and a past Master of the Masonic Lodge #9 of Jefferson, Ducks Unlimited, and Jefferson Sportsmen Club. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening at his father's home. He also enjoyed visiting his daughter in Minneapolis and his son in LaCrosse, as well as going for rides in the country side and trips with his wife. He had a special love for his dog, Zoe. Mr. Kramer is survived by his wife Elli, two children, Chris (Ken) Drewelow of Minneapolis, Minnesota, David (Kelly) Kramer of LaCrosse, four grandchildren, Claire and Brin Drewelow, Minneapolis, and Makayla and Carlin Kramer, LaCrosse, sister Shirley (Jack) Jackson of Whitewater, brother Gary Kramer of Oregon WI, brother and sister-in-law Karl (Rita) Doeberlein of Jefferson, nieces and nephews. Mr. Kramer is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth and two brothers, Chuck Kramer and John Kramer. A private family gathering celebrating Bob's life will occur at a later date.
