Jefferson Citywide Rummage Sale

May 3-5, 2019

The Jefferson Citywide Rummage is set for May 3-5.  Sign-up sheet are available at the Chamber office.  The forms can then be dropped off or mailed to the Daily Union office, or customers can call us with what they’d like their ad to say and pay via credit card over the phone. The cost of the ad does include a rummage sale kit. Kits are available at the Chamber office or the Daily Union office.

Gemuetlichkeit Days May Ball

The identity of the new King and Queen is one of the best kept secrets in the City of Jefferson. Nominations for King and Queen are solicited from the community early in the new year. Only the Selection Committee, made up of the last three years of Kings and Queens know who the next Royalty of Gemuetlichkeit Days will be until they are announced at 8:00 p.m. at May Ball. Thank you Brad and Tonya Umbarger for being our King and Queen for 2018.   Admission this year is only $3.00 each, or two for $5.00 for raffle tickets purchased at the door.  You not only will be supporting the Gemuetlichkeit Days Scholarship fund, but will have a chance to win one of several prizes.   They are listed below.  If you have already purchased a raffle ticket from a Gemuetlichkeit person prior to this event simply bring a stub along.   Card players will also need to purchase this $2 raffle ticket admission.  Please join us to welcome our new royal couple.

The Euchre Tournament registration is at 3:00 p.m. Play begins at 3:30 p.m. with a $2.00 entry fee. All entry money is paid out in prizes.  The Card Tournament is sponsored by:  Havill of Jefferson. Please thank them for their continued support.

Music for the evening by The Variations from 7-11 p.m.  

Raffle prize drawing will take place at 10 p.m.

2019 Furry Friends 5K

Located at Jefferson County Fair Park.

Join the race to help homeless pets by participating in the Humane Society of Jefferson County’s 6th Annual Furry Friends 5K. This family-friendly and dog-friendly event will take place on Saturday, May 18 at 9 a.m. at the Jefferson County Fair Park.

Hundreds of human participants and their canine companions have taken part in this race, providing our community with a healthy and fun event that gets bigger and better every year. The scenic, flat course ensures that first time walkers and runners can comfortably participate alongside more serious runners. Along with the race, the day will feature dog lure and agility courses, many area vendors, bobbing for tennis balls, concessions, a 50/50 raffle, music and more!

Registration Fees:
13 years & under: $25
14 years & up: $35

Price includes a race day T-shirt, swag bag full of goodies, finisher medals for humans AND dogs, as well as finish line snacks and beverages.

Hope Fest is a celebration of life, family and friends. It’s a time for us to find healing and strength as we share our journey with each other. We invite you to join us as an individual or as a team of family members, co-workers or friends. Together we raise money to support local healthcare recipients to help those who have been touched by Alzheimer’s, cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other life-limiting illnesses.
