almost every day at recess me and a few of my friends would walk down to his office and ask if we could do tennis balls with him. tat when you take a tennis ball on a stick and rub black marks off the floor. this was the best thing i did at school. we would just go up and down the hallways and just talk and talk. Mr. tacey always had somthing funny to share. when recess was over we never wanted to go back to class we just wanted to stay wih him. he was so fun to be around. but he eventually talked us into goign back and we came back the next day. this is what i remember the most about him because it was the best.

Mr. Stacey was the janitor at my school. he was the one I could look up to and he always put a smile on my face. he was almost like a best friend. I saw him everyday since kindergarten trough fourth grade and I have missed him deeply since I left the school in fifth grade. he gave me his picture from the year book so I could keep it when I left and I gave him mine, that same picture still sits on the corner of my dresser. I couldn't believe that he was gone when I heard about it, I broke my heart. I remember just siting in his office during lunch instead of sitting with my friends. we would just sit and talk at movie nights too. I have so many memories with and about Mr. Stacey that I will never forget. I wish I could o made it to his funeral but even though I couldn't I still know that he knows how much I miss him. Mr. Stacey will always for the rest of my life have a place in my heart. he meant so much to me and many others and I hope the best for him up there and his family down here.

Jim touched so many people of many ages! Young children loved Jim and he loved them back! They knew that he could fix anything. He devoted his life to working with the young and the young-at-heart. Even though he battled with cancer and its treatments, he did not miss many days of work. He was very dependable. He will be missed by the entire Jefferson School District Family, the children at West Elementary who had come to love him so dearly as a friend and a custodian, the West Elementary Staff who have known him for so long, and especially his dear friends and family.

In November of 1995, during one of the most amazing moments I've ever experienced at a football game, Jim was sitting next to me when Brett Favre threw a 50+ yard bomb to Robert Brooks. Brooks caught the ball at the 20 yard line and at full stride he did a Lambeau Leap into the stands. We were sitting in the second row, and Brooks' helmet ended up directly in between Jim and I.

Jim- time was never a factor in your life. You did what you did every day to the fullest and the best of your ability. You took nothing for granted. You made it through more than your share of medical problem that most of us would have crumbled under. I know you felt uncomfortable sometimes with the body God gave you so you tucked yourself away. I hope you know that your family loved you for who you were inside. The loving son of Aunt Jo and Uncle Jim, loving brother of Mike and Mark and a kind hearted man who left his impression on everyone who knew him. I know there are many who are so excited to welcome you just as i know there are many who grieve your loss. God speed Jim and carry our love to all those who have gone before you. Till we meet again. Jim was always there for his friends and cheered on our Lady Eagles basketball in the 80's. We had a lot of fun with the gang for years. He will be missed!

I had the pleasure of working with Jim (Mr. Stacey) when I volunteered at West Elementary School. He was always willing to help out when asked. And the kids would do anything for him-as he would do anything for the kids. He will be greatly missed by all of us. I worked with his Dad at Nestle and heard many stories about Jim and being a right-hand-man to his Dad. Missed by he will never be forgotten.

Dear Jimmy,
You were always in my prayers and still are. You have always showed your strength and courage no matter what your health issues were (I know you had many). You still came to school, you did your job to the best of your ability. The best thing I will remember you for, was your interaction with the kids (students). You always had smiles for them, helping them learn skills they could use for life. You explained things to them in your soft voice and they loved you for that. You will be missed!
I know you are now pain free and reunited with your parents. You must be so Happy! God Bless you "Jimmy" for all the lives you touched with your strength, courage, and soft voice!
Your Friend,
Francie Brown
