Obituary of Donald Lawrence Bayreuther
DON L. BAYREUTHER age 76 of Shawano formerly of Jefferson passed away Thursday October 6, 2011
at his home in Shawano. He was born on December 18, 1934 in Jefferson, son of the late Erwin and Frances
(Hans) Bayreuther. He graduated from Jefferson High School, the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, and
the University of Wisconsin Superior. Don taught high school at La Farge, and at the Madison Area Technical
College Watertown Campus for 28 years. He also worked at Borg Textiles in Jefferson.
Don served in the United States Army National Guard in 1961 during the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of the
American Legion Post 164 Jefferson, a life time member of the University Wisconsin- Whitewater Letterman
Club, the Watertown Elk Club Lodge 666, a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Jefferson. Don was
an avid Cub, Packer and Badger fan; he enjoyed golfing, and bowling.
He is survived by his family; Brother Jack (Mary) Bayreuther of Jefferson,
Nephews; Dan (Debbie) Bayreuther of Janesville, Mike Prosser of Jefferson.
Great nieces and nephews; Zach and Haley Bayreuther, Katie Prosser, Leah (Mark) Hernandez,
Audrey (Nick) Harrington, great-great nephews; Montgomery Harrington, Ike Hernandez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, niece; Sue Prosser, and nephew Tommy Bayreuther.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 11, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial with Military Honors will follow in the Parish
cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:45 a.m. at the church on Tuesday
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to: St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church or School, or memorial of choice.
