My parents were good friends with Donny, as they always called him. My dad taught with Merril Monogue and used to go up north with a bunch of teachers playing cards at the cabin. I vividly remember going with my parents to the Elks Club and sitting at the bar while waiting for a fish fry. Donny always bought me and my sister a kiddie cocktail and was a very funny guy. I was just a little kid at the time, and now I am almost fifty, so his kindness and love of fun must have been huge because I can remember him like it was yesterday.

Dear Jack, Mary, Dan, and family. Don and Merrill were gracious to us when we were newly married and needed a home to live in. The "little house" as we always called it was perfect and we got to know Mom and Dad Bayreuther during the year we lived there. It was a wonderful experience and hopefully now Don will find his little home in heaven with all those he loved.

To the family of Donnie, we wish to express our sincerest sympathy to all of you, Don was one of the finest gentleman we have had the privilege of knowing. We shared many good times at various restaurants in Shawano and also Jim enjoyed playing pool every Tuesday with Don. He will be deeply missed.
