Obituary of Douglas Lee Muggsy"" Madison

DOUGLAS L. "MUGGSYS" MADISON age 49 of Helenville passed away Monday April 11, 2011 unexpectedly at his home from an apparent heart attack. He was born on December 5, 1961 in Watertown, Wisconsin, son of Lester and Esther (Nemitz) Madison. He was a graduate of the Jefferson High School class of 1980. He owned and operated "Muggsys" Bar in Helenville. A valued member of the Jefferson County Tavern League, and a member of the Helenville Hill Hoppers snowmobile club. Past member and supporter of the Helenville Fire Department. "Muggsy" was an avid NASCAR fan, and he enjoyed truck pulling, and trap shooting. He will be deeply missed by his mother Esther of Helenville. Sister; Bonnie (Darrel) Bouton of Fayetteville North Carolina. Three brothers; William Madison of Horicon, Raymond (Donna) Madison of Helenville, David (Lisa) Madison of Jefferson, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Lester. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 16, 2011 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson with the Rev. Richard Pagels officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Helenville Visitation will take place from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home and then again on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:00-10:45 a.m. Condolences and memorials can also be made online at www.schneidermichaelisfuneralhome.com
