Obituary of Louise Henrietta Lou"" Strand

LOUISE HENRIETTA STRAND, age 80 of Jefferson passed away on Thursday May 20, 2010, surrounded b family in Glendale Arizona. She was born on May 3, 1930 in Willow Lake, South Dakota, daughter John B. and Johanna (Janssen) Temple. Louise owned "Lou's Riverview" and celebrated 40 years in business 2 years ago. On September 6, 1980 she was united in marriage to Donald Strand. She enjoyed meeting and talking with people, summers up north, winters in Arizona with family and friends. Lou's pastime was reading the daily paper from front to back, and having her cat (Bootsie) on her lap, and finding bargains at any flea market or discount store, going for a Sunday ride to visit friends, and listening to good country music. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Donald Strand of Jefferson. Her step children; Donn (Joni) Krueger of Deerfield, Jeff (Mary) Strand of Arbor Vitae, Jamie Strand of Rockdale, Joe Strand of Cambridge, Jay Strand of Lake Mills. Six grandchildren; Tarrah Spooner of Jefferson, Angie (Paul) Lira of Puyallup WA, Jimmy Kessler Jr. of Deerfield, Sophie, Stevey and Sammy Strand of Cambridge. One great-grandson Jackson Smith of Jefferson. Her siblings, 2 sisters; Jean Partridge of Jefferson, Shirley Madsen of Carpenter SD, one brother; Dennis (Eunice) Temple of Bullhead City AZ, sister-in-law Eleanor Temple of Clark SD, 2 brothers-in-law; Jim (Betty)Strand of Deerfield, Bill (Donna) Strand of Park Falls, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Louise is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter JoAnn Hoene, two brothers; Donald and John Temple, one sister Alma "Bonnie" Falkenberg, three brothers-in-law; Russell Madsen, Patrick Partridge, Jerome Strand. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday June 5,2010 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home, Jefferson with the Pastor Bill Beyer of the Trinity English Lutheran Church officiating. Friends may greet the family from 12:00noon-3:00 p.m. on Saturday June 5th, 2010 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson. A celebration of life will follow the service at "Lou's Riverview" A special thank you to hospice card, and to her dear niece Sharon. Rest in peace… In Lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Hospice of the Valley at 13620 North 55th Avenue Glendale, AZ 85304-1371.
