Obituary of Doris Irene Wedl

DORIS I. WEDL, age 91 of Jefferson, WI, passed away at Alden Estates of Jefferson where she had made her home for the last 2 years. She was born March 25, 1927 in Marshall, WI the daughter of Harold & Rose (Heiman) Rennhack. She married Alfred Wedl on February 16, 1946 in Watertown, he preceded her in death on August 7, 2002. Doris had several jobs in her lifetime. She was most proud of her last job, that of being a caregiver at St. Coletta's. Doris loved her crafts especially knitting, crocheting & ceramics. She always had plenty of supplies for these crafts on hand, just in case. Doris also enjoyed collecting things, such as her Precious Moments, dolls, pottery, and books about the Kennedys. She was known as the "African violet lady." She also enjoyed spending winters in Arizona for many years. Doris is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (David) Erpenbach of Edgerton, WI, Susan Wedl of Prescott, AZ, Jane Wedl of Fort Atkinson, WI, Polly (Bill) Felton of Jefferson, WI.; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great granddaughters; 1 sister, Judy (Nellie) Wegner of Watertown, WI.; 5 sister-in-laws & many nieces, nephews & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred, grandson, Nicholas Felton, 4 brothers & 1 sister. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle presiding. Burial will follow in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family would like to thank all Doris' caregivers at Alden Estates & Rainbow Hospice for all their compassion & caring.
