Obituary of Otis Dean Beyer

OTIS "O.D." BEYER age 80 of Jefferson passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 28, 2011 at his home. He was born on June 16, 1930 in Lake Mills Wisconsin, son of the late Carl and Lydia (Albrecht) Beyer. He married Kathleen Murphy on July 3, 1954 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Mazomanie. O.D. was Vice-President of sales at Brauns Inc. in Jefferson for many years until retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. He served in the Army National Guard. O.D. enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was past President of the Meadow Springs Golf Course. O.D. also enjoyed euchre card club, traveling all over the U.S.A. but especially to Ireland. He also loved his many years at the cottage with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his wife Kathleen of Jefferson, daughter Teresa (Ken) Warner of Milwaukee, son; Dean (Peg) Beyer of Jefferson. 4 grandchildren; Christopher Beyer, Michael (Kimber) Beyer, Alissa Riedl, Justin Riedl. 4 great-grandchildren; Ava Beyer, Symon Beyer, Caleb Schultz, Juliann Riedl. Sisters; Shirley Herman of Reno NV, Arline (Earle) Kaercher of Waukesha, brother; Kenneth (Elaine) Beyer of Watertown. He is further preceded in death by one daughter Julie Riedl, brothers; Carl "Bud" Beyer Jr., Richard "Butch" Beyer, sister; Pat (Randy)Bauer, brother-in-law; John Thomas "Jack" Murphy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday June 3, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and then again on Friday morning at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
