Obituary of Roger Elmer Eikland

ROGER E. EIKLAND age 74 of Jefferson passed away at his home on Sunday January 9, 2011. He was born on November 19, 1936 in Deerfield Wisconsin, son of the late Henry and Viola (Smith) Eikland. He married Patricia Peterson on October 4, 1958 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Roger was employed at the Jefferson County Highway Department for 32 years, retiring in 1992. He is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. He enjoyed hunting, and fishing and spending time outdoors. He will be deeply missed by his wife Patricia of Jefferson, five daughters; Wendy (Steve) Ament of Fort Atkinson, Pamela (Jeff) Poredos of Johnson Creek, Vicky (William) Barrett of Edgerton, Lori (Jeff) McCulloch of Jefferson, Kathy (Timothy) Jacobson of Sullivan, two sons; Scott (Jane) Eikland of Fort Atkinson, Tony (Frank) Eikland of Watertown, 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren Two sisters; Harriett Behm of Watertown, Emilie Boehm of Cottage Grove. He is also preceded in death by on brother; Harold Eikland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 on Thursday January 13, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will follow in the Rock River Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 12 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:45 p.m. And again on Thursday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
