Obituary of Rita A Doeberlein

RITA A. DOEBERLEIN, age 76, of Jefferson passed away at her home on January 22, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on October 1, 1941 in Gruenbach, Germany to Johann and Maria (Melzner) Guertler. Rita married Karl Doeberlein on December 6, 1963 in Arzberg, Germany and immigrated to Jefferson in 1964. Together they owned and operated Jefferson Ceramic Tile Co. for 49 years, retiring in 2013. Rita and Karl were honored as the 1979 Gemuetlichkeit King and Queen. Rita enjoyed her flower garden and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Jefferson. She is survived by her husband, Karl Doeberlein of Jefferson; sons, Norbert (Heidi) Doeberlein of Lake Mills, and Thomas (Pattie) Doeberlein of Fort Atkinson; one grandson, Seth Doeberlein; and one brother, Wolfgang Guertler of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Private family services will be held at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson with burial in Union Cemetery.
