Obituary of Janet Kay Palmer

JANET KAY PALMER, age 71 of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away January 3, 2018 at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 20, 1946 in Mounds, IL; the daughter of the late John H. and Bobbie (Fields) Goins. Janet's greatest passion in life was her family, to whom she was devoted. She had enthusiasm for any and all involvement with her children, selflessly logging endless hours of phone calls, chauffer duties, babysitting and craft projects. She also enjoyed her Fenton art glass collection, reading, sewing, quilting and watching movies with her faithful and beloved dog, Sadie. She is survived by her cherished children Tamara Jone (Weston) Brown Lake Mills, WI; Thomas John "TJ" (Sharon) Palmer of Fort Atkinson, WI; Tisha Jill Palmer of Hamilton, NJ; Tad Joseph Palmer of Waunakee, WI; and Tyler Jason Palmer of Madison, WI; Her beautiful grandchildren, Brittany Ives, Trevor Palmer, Kaylynne Palmer and Brooklynn Palmer; treasured sister Judy (Bill) Biggerstaff of Murray, KY, and dearest brother Sam (Holly) Goins of Mounds, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents and son Timothy James Palmer. Friends and family will be welcomed at 4:00pm on January 12, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Mounds, IL. A memorial service for Janet will begin at 5:30pm with Rev. Doug Atkins officiating, followed by a dinner. Burial of cremains will be a private ceremony on Saturday, January 13 at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, IL.
