Obituary of Robert Walter NIELSEN
ROBERT W. NIELSEN age 79 of Lake Mills passed away September 13, 2009 at Watertown Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1930 in Delafield Wisconsin, son of the late Neils and Lucy (Prager) Nielsen.
Robert married Mary Ann Bayer on April 12, 1958 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Alma Iowa. Robert served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 in the Korean War, earning 2 Bronze Service Stars.
Robert had farmed the Lake Mills area in the towns of Milford and Aztalan since 1958.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Nielsen of Lake Mills
Seven children, eight grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Children; Tom (Diane) Nielsen of Whitewater
Tim (Kris) Nielsen of Winnebago IL, and their children, Joe, and Claire
Theresa Ann Nielsen-Hasel and her children, Matt (Mandi) Hasel,
and Melissa (Jeff) Norton, and their son Levi.
Linda Nielsen of West Salem Ohio
Lisa Nielsen Brahmer and her son Josh of Omro
Nancy Nielsen of Lake Mills
Chris (Jessica) Nielsen and their children, Kayda, Madalyn, and Kenzie
Two sisters; Doris (Terry) Crawford of New Berlin
Sally (Ed) Mohr of Oconomowoc
One brother; George (Virginia) Nielsen of Oconomowoc
Many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by one son David, and Sisters Jean Nielsen, Marion (Lawrence) Fry, and brother Bill (Clara) Nielsen
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday September 17th, 2009 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Johnson Creek with the Rev. Larry Pinnow officiating, burial with full Military Honors will follow in the Aztalan-Milford Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson, and then again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
