Obituary of Fannie Griffin

FANNIE EMMA MARIE GRIFFIN, 96, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully Monday, June 19, 2017, at Sunset Ridge in Johnson Creek. Fannie was born on February 12, 1921 in Jefferson to William and Alma (Buelow) Ives, and married John Griffin on June 12, 1954. She attended St. John's Lutheran School, graduated from Jefferson High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Fannie worked as a bookkeeper for Jamesway, Copeland Ryder Shoe Company, Nasco, Puerner Well Drilling, and the Night Owl Supper Club. Later in life she obtained her license and became a realtor. When Fannie was not working outside of the home, she was busy taking care of her family, and eventually several of her grandchildren. Fannie had a contagious smile that would light up a room. She was a very caring person, and like her husband, faith and family were most important. She will be deeply missed by her children, Sally (Mike) Drew of Jefferson, Jane (Elgin) Lumby of Oconomowoc, James (Lori) Griffin of Fort Atkinson, and Sue (Mike) Johann of Jefferson. She is further survived by her 11 grandchildren, Joshua and Nicholas Drew, Kristina and Brandon (Krissy) Lumby, William, Melissa and Christopher (Kayla) Griffin, John Garity, Becky (Mike) Nordness, Elise (Matt) Coffelt, and Kelly Johann; her six great-grandchildren, Everett and Lylah Lumby, Cole, Peyton and Emma Nordness, and Isabelle Coffelt; her sister-in-law, Joyce Griffin, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John, and parents William and Alma. Funeral services for Fannie will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday June 26, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Matthew Krenke officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Those wishing to express sympathy through donations may direct them to Rainbow Hospice Care or St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson in Fannie's memory.
