Barbara was an inspiration to me as a stamp collector. What a wise, intelligent, and gentle soul. A favorite memory is of the dinner we shared together on a rainy night at an APS show in Richmond a few years ago. She was also an inspiration to me in her passion for the Lutheran faith we shared. "Rest eternal grant to her, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her." Pr. Rodney Juell, Joliet, Illinois

Barbara was a living legend in the world of philately (study of stamp and mail collecting). Now her legacy will continue through her friends, research, writing, and editing. She was such a sharing, caring person and served as a role model for my generation of women in philately. She will be deeply missed, but not forgotten! Dr. Cheryl Ganz, Smithsonian Institution Curator Emerita, National Postal Museum

Recently Barbara's philatelic library was donated to Northern Philatelic Library. We are grateful for all of Barbara's philatelic contributions and are blessed to receive her library.

Barbara, It was a pleasure to know you. I sincerely wish I'd had more time to chat with you. I appreciate your help with my genealogy research. And, I was hoping to tell you that I've recently taken up stamp-collecting. I regret that our children did not know you better. We will be sure to share stories and keep your memory alive. I know that your family had so much respect for you. And, you will be deeply missed; especially by Adele. I trust that you are back with your beloved parents and brother, now. ~Kari & Tim Jessica, Josh, Damien & Jorden Meggan, Whitney & Natalie

We are glad for the times we spent with Barbara and being able to get to know her better in the past couple of years. Her candid honesty, forthrightness, self confidence and genuine love for her family was an inspiration to us all. We'll deeply miss her.
