Obituary of Christine Marie Bieck

CHRISTINE "CHRIS" M. BIECK age 65of Jefferson passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday July 26, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center in Summit. Chris was born on August 25, 1950 in Fort Atkinson, daughter of the late Edward and Georgia (Matiasek) Holman. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1968, and was well known even back then for her enthusiasm for life by firing up the crowds at JHS football games with her flaming baton routine at the half-time shows. Chris married Dennis Bieck on April 17, 1971 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Chris worked as a hair stylist at Countryside Home and Hospital; she also was a stylist at several salons in the area. She was the original owner of the Best Little Hair House in Jefferson. She managed the Fairview Apartment Salon & Hair at Home styling for shut-ins. She was also employed at Country Nurses. Chris was a proud union supporter and gave discounted hair services to the striking union families. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parishes, and an active member in the Council of Catholic Women where she Co-Chaired the Fall Festival for the Church, and was the head of the Slavic food booth, organized funeral luncheons, and donated food, and helped to organize and serve soup for shut-in, and served as a lector and Communion distributor. Chris and Dennis were honored to be the Gemuetlichkeit royalty in 2002, she was a member of the G-Day's committee since 1991, and served as president of the organization from 1992-1996. She was also named Citizen of the Year for Modern Woodman of Jefferson County in 1994. She was a devoted wife to Dennis Bieck of Jefferson, and supportive and loving mom to David (Heather) Bieck of Cottage Grove, Sarah Bieck of Oshkosh, and Andy Bieck of Jefferson. The proud "Babi" of 5 exceptionally beautiful grandchildren who called her "bubbles" Isla and Harper, Benjamin and twins Mickie & Marley. She was the AFS "Mom" to Eduardo de Theresa of Spain, Julie Vande Weile of Belgium, and Christian Rangen of Norway. Chris organized weeklong visit of Norway's Oslow College of Business, finding 20+ students host homes and throwing supper parties every night. As well as organizing a weeklong visit of the Norwegian basketball club coached by Thomas Rangen. Chris was the family planner, welcoming new members and celebrating important occasions with style. She was the family peace keeper, tactful and gracious. She did not judge, she understood how it was to live with pain, she endured with courage and dignity. She also leaves behind her siblings, sisters Kelly Jensen of Williams Bay, Marge (Don) Ermann of Jefferson, Virjean (Dan) Jaeckel, Fort Atkinson Debra (Jim) Astell of Jefferson, brothers Bob (Mary) Holman of Fort Atkinson, and Dan (Donna) Holman of Iowa, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great niece and great-great nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara Jean Holman, brother James Holman, Sister-in-laws Maureen Holman, Barb Holman and brother-in-law Hubert Jensen. Memorial Mass will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 2, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Those wishing to give donations in Chris's name may direct them to Tomorrow's Hope.
