Obituary of Donald S. Kirkvold

DONALD S. KIRKVOLD, age 75 of Jefferson passed away Sunday July 24, 2016 at Alden Estates of Jefferson. Don was born on August 8, 1940 in Brandt South Dakota to the late Julian and Dorothy (Collier) Kirkvold. Don married Joyce Rauth on April 13, 1968 in Waukesha. He managed the Men's Clothing Department at J.C. Penney in Milwaukee, and most recently worked as a Realtor retiring in 1986. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and loved to watch Cable News, and play cards, and computer games. He will be deeply missed by his wife Joyce of Jefferson; Son Michael (Donna) Kirkvold of Waukesha. Grandchildren; Jenna (Tom) Brandt, Rebecca Kuntz, Tyler (Erin) Kirkvold; and Great-Grandchildren Ariel Bergin and Alexandria Kuntz; Sister Della (George) Trankle of Rapid City SD, Linda (Les) Brandhagen of Sioux Falls SD; Brother in law Andy Unruh of Sioux Falls SD. He is further preceded in death by his parents and sister Faye Unrh. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday August 1, 21016 at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers memorials in Dons name may be directed to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice or to the Humane Society of Jefferson County.
