Obituary of Franklin R Pohlman

FRANKLIN R. POHLMAN SR., 82, of Jefferson, passed away Thursday June 9, 2016 at Alden Estates of Jefferson surrounded by his family. He was born on November 3, 1933 in Jefferson, Wisconsin, son of the late Henry and Margaret (Weber) Pohlman. Franklin married Shirley Hoffman on July 27, 1957 at St. John the Baptist Rectory. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2009. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. Franklin was employed at the Jones Dairy Farm, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was always up for a game of sheepshead. He enjoyed trips to multiple casinos. He leaves behind his family of three daughters Carol (Mark) Tucker of Jefferson, Jane (Greg Zilisch) Pohlman of Jefferson, Rita (Frank) Marty of Cambridge, and one son Frank Jr. (Barb) Pohlman of Fort Atkinson; 8 grandchildren, Sarah McKinney, Ashli (Brian) Huppert, Jessica Tucker, Austin Tucker, Justin (Kristen) Loeper, Emily Zilisch, Jordan Marty, Jared Marty, and 4 great grandchildren; sisters Joanne (Roger) Gross of Fort Atkinson, Marlene Cissa of Johnson Creek, Beverly Winter of Watertown, Patricia Zupet of Johnson Creek; brother Gerald Pohlman of Janesville; brother-in-law Roger (Mary) Hoffman of LasVegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister Rosie Gottschalk, and brothers Larry Pohlman, and Frederick Pohlman, Sr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson and then again on Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorials in Franklin's memory may be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice.
