Obituary of Russel L Lang

RUSSEL L. LANG age 97 of Jefferson passed away Tuesday June 7, 2016 at Sunset Ridge Memory Care in Jefferson. He was born on August 25, 1918 in Jefferson, Wisconsin son of the late William and Lydia (Schloesser) Lang. Russel graduated from Jefferson High School in 1936. He married June Cole on September 3, 1938; she preceded him in death on April 8, 1997. Russel was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson. He had worked at Schweiger Industries for 28 years and then at Becker's Superette in Jefferson. Russel is survived by his daughter Diane (Larry) Schafer of Watertown, and Son in law Don (Marilyn) Biwer of Jefferson. Grandchildren Teresa (Jesse) Padilla, Rebecca (Scott) Whiting, Sandi (John) Cummins, Brett Biwer, Kevin (Stephanie) Schafer. Great grandchildren Bailey and Brooke Whiting, Bella Biwer, Kyle, Cade and Jake Cummins, Skyler and Noah Padilla, Kristian, Karsten, Karmindy and Kelyse Schafer. He is preceded in death by his wife June Lang, daughter Sharon Biwer, Brothers Paul Lang, Harry Lang, Sisters Anita Schloesser, Helen Frohmader, Isabel Potratz, and Caroline Seidel. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 11, 2016 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson with the Rev. Mark O. Bartsch officiating, burial will follow in the Union Cemetery in Jefferson. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
