Obituary of Robert John Monogue

ROBERT J. "BOB" MONOGUE, age 78 of Jefferson passed away Wednesday March 2, 2016 at his home in Jefferson. He was born on March 26, 1937 in Jefferson, son of the late Robert and Margaret (Kemmeter) Monogue. He married Mary Ellen Vaughan on November 3, 1956 in Sullivan. Bob was employed in Construction working for Braun Lumber Inc. for many years then Wenzel Homes until his retirement. Bob had a gentle and gracious heart. He made everyone feel special. He loved his family, friends, and his golfing buddies. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parishes. He leaves behind the love of his life Mary Ellen Monogue of Jefferson. Daughters Angela (Brian) Hoffman of Jefferson, Amy (Leslie) King of Lincoln NE, Melissa (James) McGowan of Jefferson, Sons Brian (Vicky) Monogue of Jefferson, Kevin Monogue of Milwaukee. Grandchildren Toby (Dana) Monogue, Emily (Michael) Frier, Natalie (Bryan) Briscoe, Sarah (Brett) Hagland, Zachariah (Amber) King, Thadden, Maxwell, Ian McGowan. Great Grandchildren Drew, Merit, McKenna, Kane, Breeley, Landon, Liam. Sisters Marcia Bare of Jefferson, Margery (Greg) Ashburn of Jefferson, Brother James (Ellin) Monogue of Jefferson. Sister-in-law Joan (Lee) Heideman of Middleton, Brother-in-law James (Sue) Vaughan of Florida. He is also preceded in death by his Brother Merrill Monogue, and Brother-in-law Andy Bare. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday March 7, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will follow the Mass in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Church on Monday from 10:00a.m. - 12:00 noon. Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home is assisting the family.
