Obituary of Delores Marie Stauffacher

DELORES M. STAUFFACHER, 81 of Fort Atkinson passed away Friday February 26, 2016 at Alden Estates of Jefferson. She was born on April 14, 1934 in Eyota, MN, daughter of the late Leland and Marie (Lichte) Moehnke. She graduated from Lakeland College in 1958. She married John Stauffacher on April 2, 1960 at St. John's Church in Monroe, WI; he preceded her in death on February 3, 1989. Delores was employed as a Bookkeeper for the Jefferson School District for over 30 years retiring in 1997. Delores lead a full life, enjoyed traveling, served as the Treasure for the Fort Atkinson Swim Team (FAST), and played the organ at Friedens Church for 27 years. Delores was a member of the Fort Atkinson Woman's Club, a member of the American Association of University Women, and Lakeland College Alumni. She served on the County City Credit Union Board, and was a member of the Jefferson Senior Center; above all, she loved to play cards. Delores was a member of First Congregational Church in Fort Atkinson. She is survived by her daughter Heidi (Michael) Siefkes of Jefferson, and her son Steven (Colleen) Stauffacher of Elgin IL. Her grandchildren are Thomas and Matthew Siefkes, and Kyle Stauffacher. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Janice Moehnke of Owatonna MN and Ruth Curtis of Farmington, CT, her brother-in-law Gene Becker of St. Louis MO and many nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her brother Alvin Moehnke, and Sister Marlene Becker. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 5, 2016 at the First Congregational Church in Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Chris Buckingham-Taylor officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30a.m. until the time of services.
