Mom was a teacher. Even though she only taught school as a
profession for a small portion of her 86 plus years, she never
stopped teaching. As we sat with mom the last few days we talked
about the many lessons she taught us in life. You all know mom had
a strong belief in God, and she had an unwaivering faith and trust in
her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For those of you who knew mom
well, you also know that she had a fascination with God's angels. I
really never gave deep thought to this until this past while when
mom's health started to fail more rapidly. In the last few days our
family got to witness the multitude of God's angels all around us.
These angels took many shapes and forms. The Dr.'s who cared for
mom over the years, the nurses, the hospital staffs at both Calumet
Medical Center and St. Elizabeth's, the cardiac rehab angels, the staff
at West Haven, the nurses from Heartland Hospice, the prayer
warriors, both here in Wisconsin and around the world, Pastor
Marc, friends, and especially family. I got to see every one of you
angels doing the task that God gifted you with to care for mom and
our family. Your efforts lightened our burden, and for that we are
truly grateful. I will never forget how mom's face lit up when some
of the great grandchildren sang Away in the Manger and Rudolph
the Red Nosed Reindeer to her in the hospital and at West Haven. I
mentioned earlier that mom was always teaching lessons in life, and
I realized that she was also teaching us a lesson in her death.
She said she did not want to be eulogized, but two facts are evident:
1. The tears that we cry are not for mom they are for ourselves.
2. The hearts and lives that mom touched were really touches
made by Jesus through mom's words and deeds.
So if we consider these facts, mom is teaching us that today is not
about us, and it is not about her. It's really all about Jesus. Thanks
for all the lessons mom. We love you. Bud Wieting

I saw this picture and my Heart was warm.
My mom was a new teacher in a one room school house. She wanted to plan a Christmas party for her students, she found a man that was the "usual" Santa Claus and he was all set to come to her classroom. Last minute this man got sick and sent a replacement Santa ( my dad). Well the school teacher and the Santa fell in love and the rest is our history! How fitting is it that God brought them together and God will reunite them in this Christmas season! In the midst of sadness and loss God continues to bless us with this beautiful LOVE!
