Obituary of Frances Louis Meske

Frances "Fran" L. Meske, a long-time resident of Jefferson, lost her battle for life on Mar. 22, 2014 after a lengthy illness at the age of 81. She was born September 11, 1932, to the late Yvo and Mary (Stevenson) Heger. Fran married Donald Meske on June 6, 1953, at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson and together they established Meske Trucking in 1949. As a business partner she was the heart of the business working behind the scenes performing administrative services such as scheduling, and bookkeeping. She continued to support the business until 2011 when the business was dissolved. Most of all, she was a proud mom of four children telling everyone who had a few moments about each of them. She loved cooking, a talent learned in her early years while working at the Milky Way Restaurant and again as a cook for the Johnson Creek School District. Frances; is survived by three of her four children, Gary (Sandra) Meske of Palmdale, CA; Tim Meske of Jefferson (friend Shelley Miller); and Betty Bennett (friend Jonas Silva) of Asheboro NC; and daughter-in law; Dorothy Meske of McFarland; Fran will be missed by her five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; Brother; Richard (Marion) Heger of Jefferson, Sisters; Rose Bueschel of Maitland, Fl. and Harriet Kramer of Fort Atkinson. Fran is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald on November 6, 2004, her son Al Meske, and her brother Robert Heger. Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday March 28, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Burial will be in St John the Baptist Catholic cemetery.
