Obituary of James Robert Rindfleisch

JAMES R. RINDFLEISCH age 86 of Jefferson passed away on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at the University Hospital in Madison. He was born on November 20, 1927 in Jefferson, son of the late Harold and Marie (Miller) Rindfleisch. He was a 1945 graduate of Jefferson High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin Madison for one year before being drafted in to the United States Army where he joined the 11th Airborne, where he was a paratrooper. After 13 jumps he was sent to Sendai Japan where he became Staff Sargent and Office Manager of the 11th Airborne Headquarters. After two years of service he returned home and completed his Bachelor's degree at the University in 1950. On August 12, 1950 he married Norene Frentzel at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. For many years he was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson, having served as congregation president twice, and on the stewardship committee, various Synodical committees and as an usher. Jim was owner and president of Rindfleisch Feed Mill, Hatchery and Farm for 25 years. In 1976 he changed careers to become a financial advisor with IDS American Express Financial Advisors where he worked until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid Wisconsin Badgers sports fan and enjoyed playing golf for over 40 years. He will be deeply missed by his wife Norene, of Jefferson, 2 daughters; Sara Neagley of Mechanicsburg PA Anna Marie Rindfleisch of Racine, WI, his granddaughter Jane Neagley of Merchanicsburg PA and one brother Daniel (Ruth) Rindfleisch of Fairfax Station VA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lois Dabariener. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday March 17, 2014 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Jon Baumann officiating burial will follow in the Rock River Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 until the time of services.
