Obituary of Ethline Mary Wright

ETHLINE M. WRIGHT of Milwaukee joyfully entered her heavenly home on March 12, 2014. Born on September 6, 1924 in Westmoreland Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Samuells Reid, and Mary Ellen Reid (nee Cleghorn). Married to Reverend Brian Garnet O'Brien Wright on January 14, 1948 in Kingston Jamaica, together they served God and His Church as Priest and Nurse, to His Glory, until Brian preceded her in death on July 22, 1991. Ethline, a registered nurse, committed her early years to Public Health Nursing in the remote parts of Jamaica, and after retiring from Lakeland Hospital in Elkhorn, WI, spent many happy years serving God's people through her Parish Nursing Ministry. She touched the lives of so many with her laughter, stories, conviction to strong family values and unconditional love for her Jesus, and her family. She will be deeply missed by sons Donovan (Colleen) Wright of OR and Peter (Vicki) Wright of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren Vanessa Turrell, Theresa (Richard) Cassady, Donovan James (Christina) Wright, Damian (Kelly) Wright, Sara Wright, Nicholas Niland, Olivia Niland, Matthew (Katie) Wright, Tiffany (David) Helmke; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Sr. Esther Reid of the Marist Missionary Sisters in Bedford MA; brothers; Frank (Peggy) Reid and Ernest (Jo) Reid, both in England; step-brother Paul Reid and step-sister Angela Williams, both in FL, and many loved nieces and nephews, and dear former daughter in laws; Helen Wright of Montana, and Catherine Lemon of England. Ethline is preceded in death by brothers; Dennis Reid, Fred Reid, George (Jappa) Reid and Donald Reid, and sisters Amy Reid, Edna Reid and Enid Melville, and loved nephews and nieces. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday April 12, 2014 at St Paul's Episcopal Church, 413 South Second Street, Watertown WI with the Rev. Elizabeth Tester officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on April 12, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services. In honor of Ethline, a High Tea will be served in the Guild Hall, following the ceremony.
