Obituary of Cora Mae Olszewski

CORA M. OLSZEWSKI, age 86 of Johnson Creek passed away on February 11, 2014 at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown. She was born on July 22, 1927 in Chicago Illinois daughter of the late Archibald and Victeleen (LeClair) Layton. She married Sylvester Olszewski on April 17, 1945 in Brooklyn New York. Cora was employed at Hamlin Industries in Lake Mills for over 20 years retiring in 1989. Cora is a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek, and the Daughters of Mary. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary post 305 in Johnson Creek, and she and her best friend and sister-in-law June Vogel organized the Christmas Dinner at the Legion for many years. She was awarded the Citizen of the year in 2004. Cora was a devoted mother and grandmother, and excellent cook; she enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family, Husband; Sylvester of Watertown Daughter; Geralyn "Geri" Kolata of Deerfield, Sons; Virgil (Karen) Olszewski of Jefferson, William (Kathleen) Olszewski of Johnson Creek, Ronald (Chris) Olszewski of Johnson Creek, Thomas (Pamela) Olszewski of Johnson Creek, 11 grandchildren, 12, great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Sister; Virginia Hanson of Kansasville, WI She is also preceded in death by one son; Bryan "Hap" Olszewski, sister; Irene, Brothers; Virgil, Frank Sister-in-law June Vogel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday February 15, 2014 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek, with the Rev. David Wanish officiating, burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery, Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9:00-12:00.
