Obituary of Michael J Doherty

MICHAEL J. DOHERTY, 56, Johnson Creek made his transition to Heaven on Friday December 6, 2013. Michael was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 2, 1957, the son of the late James P. Doherty and Rachel (Kroll) Doherty. He attended Kettle Moraine schools graduating in 1975 and graduated from the University Wisconsin River Falls. Michael started his career as an agriculture instructor at the Kettle Moraine High School and had been employed at Hartmann Controls in Hartland and Dynex Corporation in Pewaukee, WI Michael had a great love for nature and agriculture. He was an active member of the Johnson Creek FFA Alumni and also loved to hunt with his brothers and nephews. Michael will be deeply missed by his son Luke of Neillsville, WI, his mother Rachel Doherty of Johnson Creek, WI, his 6 brothers and 1 sister: Patrick (Petty) Doherty of Tucson, AZ, Timothy Doherty of Winfield, IL, Bryan (Linda) Doherty of Menomonee Falls, WI, Kari Webb of Plymouth, WI, Shawn (Nancy) Doherty of Johnson Creek, WI, Gary (Candy Zettel) Doherty of Spencer, WI, and Kevin (Jean) Doherty of Watertown, WI. He is further survived by 13 nieces and nephews; Rachel Doherty, Brandon Doherty, Ashley Doherty, Kailee Doherty, Shannon Doherty, Brendan Webb, Leilani Webb, Trenton (TJ) Doherty, Aubrey Doherty, Elysa Doherty, Isabelle Doherty, Nathan Doherty and Megan Doherty. A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 11, 2013 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson with a Celebration of life service to be held at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Shannon Finger officiating. He was preceded in death by his father James P Doherty, In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial be given to the Johnson Creek FFA Alumni or to a charity of the donors choice.
