Obituary of Alice Mary Kilian

ALICE M. KILIAN age 90 of Cambridge passed away on November 3, 2013 at the Our House Senior Living in Cambridge. The former Alice M. Strege was born on June 22, 1923 the daughter of Emil and Ottilie (Nuemburg) Strege. She was known as "Tootie" or "Toots" to family members. She attended Watertown Schools, and was a 1941 graduate of Watertown High School. She had been a member of the First Evangelical & Reformed Church in Watertown and was a Sunday school teacher there for many years. She was more recently a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farmington. Alice was employed at the former Glenn Manufacturing in Company in Watertown before her marriage on February 14, 1953, she married Merlin E. Kilian, and together they farmed for over 50 years in the lake Mills area. Merlin preceded her in death on January 26, 2008. She is survived by nieces Antoinette "Toni" (Lee) Braatz of Lake Mills, Barb Bostwick of Jefferson, Sandra (Ronald) Boeder of Iron River Michigan. Many other relatives and friends. Alice was the last member of her immediate family. She is also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and their wives; Arnold "pops" (Julia) Strege, Clarence "Ike" (Charlotte) Strege, Lester (Edith) Strege, and Elmer (Leona) Strege, Three sisters and their husbands; Irene (Eddie) Behling, Grace "babe" (Norman) Jaeger, Mavis "Bits" (Elmer) Zabel. In accordance with Alice's wishes Private family burial will be held at a later date in the Rock Lake Cemetery. Schneider Michaelis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
