Obituary of Gwendoline Alice Stoppenbach

GWENDOLINE A. STOPPENBACH age 85 of Jefferson passed away on Saturday May 18, 2013 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center. She was born on July 23, 1927 in Jefferson, daughter of the late Ervin and Winifred (Baber) Hauser. Gwen married William Stoppenbach on June 21, 1949 in Jefferson, he preceded her in death on April 14, 1986. Gwen worked in Jefferson for the Stengel's and Dickhoff's in their Liquor Stores. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Gwen loved playing cards and bingo with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her Daughter; Jane Crouch of Jefferson, Sons; Joseph Stoppenbach of Jefferson, Michael (Becky) Stoppenbach of Glenellyn, IL, James (Jodi) Stoppenbach of Burlington, Six grandchildren; Jennifer (Eli), Melissa (Nate), Kerri (Issac), Matthew, Bryan, Danielle, Step granddaughter; Nicole (Chad), great granddaughter; Iris, and step great grandchildren; Chandra, Chantel, Colton, Sister; Mary (Jack) Bayreuther, Brother; Joseph (Helen) Hauser, Sister-in-law; Ruth Hauser, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also preceded in death by her Sister; Winifred Mistele, Brother Marvin Hauser, Niece; Sue Prosser, and Nephew Tommy Bayreuther. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday May 22, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
