Obituary of Beulah I. Carlson

BEULAH I. CARLSON 96 of Jefferson passed away April 24, 2013 at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center ~ Ridgeview Terrace in Reedsburg. She was born on October 24, 1916 in the Town of Porter in Rock County, daughter of the late Ole C. and Alice C. (Julseth) Haakenson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Cooksville Lutheran Church Beulah graduated from Evansville High School in 1934. She married Leslie J. Chilsen on May 28, 1937~he preceded her in death on August 19, 1974. On April 30, 1977 she married Howard Olson, he preceded her in death on August 16, 1978, she then married Henry Carlson in 1981, and he preceded her in death in 1990. Beulah had been a member of the Central Lutheran Church in Edgerton, and a member of the Sarah Circle, quilters, and an officer in the Senior Fellowship. She later moved to Jefferson and joined St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was active in the Jefferson Area Senior Center. She will be deeply missed by her daughters; Shirley (Ken) Heitz of Jefferson, Kay (Larry) Schroeder of Reedsburg, and Judy Chilsen of Colorado Springs, CO One brother; Leslie Haakenson of Edgerton. Step children; John Olson, Carol Heeber and Dennis Carlson. Grandchildren; Thomas G. Heitz, Kerri (Brad) Houston, Kristen Schroeder (Mark) Blegen, Matthew (Mali) Schroeder, Jon Schroeder, Nikolene Chilsen (Bob) Wiley, Randall Wiley, Paul Carlson, Kim Schmeling, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her Son Donald L. Chilsen, brothers; Chester, Morris and Stanley Haakenson. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday April 27, 2013 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating, burial will be in the Cooksville Lutheran Cemetery in Cooksville. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning on expressing sympathy through memorial may direct them to the St. Mark's Elevator Fund. Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangments.
