Obituary of Edwin Richter

EDWIN "LARRY" RICHTER, age 78 of Johnson Creek, passed away Monday April 1, 2013, at Willow Brook Nursing home in Lake Mills. He was born on July 5, 1934, son of the late Edwin John and Leah (Higgins) Richter. He married Margaret "Peg" MacGillvary on February 16, 1955 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in South Glastonbury Connecticut. Larry served in the United States Navy from 1952-1955 He worked as a metal fabricator for Richter Farm Equipment until 1963. He then worked for Kusel Dairy Equipment in Watertown, and Hartel Equipment in Fort Atkinson. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Margaret "Peg" Richter of Johnson Creek. His daughters; Cynthia (Robert) Buss of Johnson Creek, Mary (Joey) Schultz of Johnson Creek, Glenna (David) Hartwig of Fort Atkinson, Annette (Roger) Bliefernicht of Watertown, Leah (Dave) Keller of Johnson Creek, Sons; Michael (Wanda) Richter of Watertown, Douglas Richter of Fort Atkinson, Adam Richter (currently serving in the United States Air Force) in New Mexico. 11 grandchildren; Melissa (Brian) Enger, Megan Schultz, Sara Buss, Kristen (Eric) Zehren, Colin Hartwig, Samantha Richter, Chelsea Bliefernicht, Lindsey Bliefernicht, Maggie Keller, Grace Keller, Emily Keller. 5 great grandchildren; Caleb and Callie Enger, Zaida, Laila, and Emry Zehren. Sisters; Donna (Robert) Radtke of Polson MT, Leah (Jerry) Mullane of Kenosha Brother; Stephen (Vicki) Richter of Fort Atkinson. He is also preceded in death by a great grandson Cillian Hartwig, and his best friend Jerry Haas. Memorial Mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday April 20, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass.
