Obituary of David Edward Hans

DAVID E. HANS, 72, of Jefferson, passed away on January 17th 2008 of Kidney Failure at Meriter Hospital in Madison. He was born on April 17, 1935 in the town of Jefferson, son of the late Benjamin and Mathilda (Weber) Hans. He received his schooling at the Sanborn Hill School in the Town of Jefferson, and at St. John the Baptist Catholic School He married Ramona Gleiter on November 3, 1956 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson David was employed at the County Highway Department from September 1, 1954 to April 17, 1989, and was the supervisor for the department for 22 of those years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and he loved his polka music, cooking, food, NASCAR racing, and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing cards with his friends. David was a loving husband to his wife Ramona of Jefferson, and a devoted father to their two daughters; Pearl Mary (Fiancé James Hammen) Ley of West Bend, and Julie Ann Luedtke of Rice Lake. David was especially proud of his 5 grandchildren; Paul (fiancé Kira Bailey) Ley, Stephanie Ley, Bradley Luedtke, Alison Luedtke, Nina Luedtke. He is also survived by one sister; Elaine Finn of Fort Atkinson, Two brothers; Kenneth (Jeanette) Hans of Lake Mills Francis (Sandra) Hans of Appleton 5 sisters-in-law; Lucille Hans of Jefferson Mary Hans of Jefferson Sandra Hans of Helenville Janice Schoenherr of Jefferson Pearl (John) Marasch of Mercer. Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by two sisters; Joan Hans, and Susan Wisch, Four brothers; Jerome, Eugene, John, and Ralph Hans And he mother and father in-law, Romie and Evelyn Gleiter And brother in law Merlin Schoenherr Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday January 26th 20087 at St. John the Baptist Catholic church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating burial will be in the Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday the 26th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In Lieu of flowers Donations may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Apostolate to the Handicap, Tomorrow's Hope, or to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice. Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson is assisting the family with arrangements.
