Obituary of Leo Norman Stetzer
LEO N. STETZER age 83 of Jefferson passed away at his home January 25, 2013, exactly one year after his wife of 40 years, Jane Stetzer. He was born on February 21, 1929 in Melrose Wisconsin, son of the late Walter and Lillian (Williams) Stetzer.
Leo graduated Valedictorian of his high school class in 1946. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He attended Iowa State University, and then the University of Wisconsin Madison graduating with his degree in Food Chemistry. He had been employed at Badger Ordinance in Baraboo, Ladish Malt Company, was the Head Chemist for Stoppenbach Foods in Jefferson, and then worked for the United States Government as a Food Chemist. Leo had a flair for finances, and enjoyed studying and analyzing the stock market and sharing his knowledge about it with others.
For those lucky enough to have known him, he truly was one of a kind. He was a unique man with an exquisite taste for art. He designed and built his own home, decorating it to his liking. Leo enjoyed traveling and traveled the world; he loved taking family trips with his daughters, along with taking them to many rock concerts of the day. He enjoyed gardening and was meticulous about his landscaping. He loved his pets, and had a love of fast and exotic cars.
He will be deeply missed by his daughters;
Sallie (Vidas) Enck of Malibu CA and their children; Luke and Misgana and
Christina Wagner of Jefferson and her children Brittany, Macarthur, and Nicolas
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings;
Walter (Ike), Wayne, Russell, Gertrude, Catherine, Ruth, Julia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday February 2, 2013 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating, burial with Military rites will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00-11:00.
