Obituary of Raymond A Sindermann
JEFFERSON - Raymond A. Sindermann passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 after a brave and brief battle with cancer at Alden Estates, Jefferson, WI.
He was born December 17, 1935 in Koenigswalder, Germany to Paul and Martha (Treutler) Sindermann. He immigrated to the US with his parents, one brother and sister in 1953 where his two other brothers were already living. He worked for 40 years at what was originally Stoppenbach's and now Tyson. He served in the US Army 32nd Division and was on active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961.
Ray was a devoted father, "Opa", "Uncle Ray Ray" and friend. He was a true Green Bay Packer fan never missing a game. Ray enjoyed traveling with family and friends visiting Germany, Arizona, Las Vegas and Florida. He was an avid gardener. He loved to play Blackjack and Euchre with friends and family. He will be remembered fondly for his ability give profound advice in one sentence.
He is survived by his two daughters, Catherine (Arthur) Kealy of Fitchburg and Heidi (Christopher) O'Neill of Madison; four grandchildren Beatrice Kealy, Mitchell Kealy, Zoe O'Neill and Meagan O'Neill; one brother, George Sindermann of Jefferson; one sister Helen (Roger) Rupnow of Ixonia ; two sisters-in-law Adel Sindermann of Jefferson and Tilly Sindermann of New Berlin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two bothers Franz Sindermann and Ernst Sindermann.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm on Friday, January 4th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson. Visitation will also be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 11am to 1pm. Rev. Thomas Coyle will officiate. Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Jefferson following the funeral. Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home, LLC will be assisting the family.
