Obituary of Richard Lee Schocker
RICHARD "RICH" LEE SCHOCKER age 66 of Jefferson passed away
peacefully at his home surrounded by family on November 2, 2012.
He was born on November 21, 1945 in Adams-Friendship. He was the son of Velma
(Hutchinson) and Carl Schocker.
He attended Beloit Technical College and the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater,
School of Mechanical Engineering.
Rich served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1969 with the 3rd Battalion, 5th
Division. This included a 1967-1968 tour of duty in Viet Nam. His last duty assignment
was with H&S Company 5th Recon 5th Marine Division. He received the National
Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Navy
Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Marksman Badge and the Good
Conduct Medal.
Rich married Maureen Noble on February 12, 1984 in Las Vegas.
Rich's career took him from Werner Electric in Beloit to Butler Manufacturing in Fort
Atkinson to Atwood Industries in Rockford, IL. He retired as the President of Fulton
Performance Products in Mosinee, WI.
Most recently Rich served as a Sales Representative for the Our Iowa magazine.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Maureen of Jefferson,
Daughters; Katie Van Zeeland of Knoxville, TN, Meghann (Josh) Rupprecht of
Whitewater, WI.
His birth mother; Elsie Maxwell of Marshfield.
Sister; Lisa Maxwell-Hackman of Marshfield, Brother Steven Maxwell of Marshfield.
Sister in law Peggy (Dean) Beyer, Mary (Dan) Emerick both of Jefferson, Brother -in -
law Michael (Grace) Noble, Ocala, Fl., Tim (Joanne) Noble, Hartlford, WI.
Along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his stepfather; Glen Maxwell.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 7, 2012 at St. John
the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, burial with Military
Honors; will follow at the Parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 6, 2012 at the Schneider-
Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson and then again on Wednesday at the Church from
10:00 a.m. until the time of Services.
Donations in Rich's memory may be made to Jefferson Rainbow Hospice or to St. John
the Baptist Catholic Church.
