Obituary of Mary Frances Tucker

Mary Francis Tucker, age 81 of Jefferson, passed away Friday September 14, 2012 at the Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. She was born June 22, 1931, in Pine Mountain, Georgia daughter of the late Auford C. Tucker and Virginia Hatchett Tucker. She was educat-ed in the Troup County School System (Lagrange, GA). In 1951, Mary decided that the excitement, energy, and electric environment of a big city would be to her lik-ing. As a result, she relocated to the City of Chicago. It was during these years that she was blessed with two sons, Melvin and Lafayette. If anyone was to spend time with Mary, her passion would resonate and be clear to all in her conversation. She was a proud mom, who worked hard to provide for her children. Even in her times of leisure her personali-ty would shine through at card parties. If there was ev-er a partner you wanted to have at a card table it would be her. Mary Tucker leaves to cherish her memory her beloved two sons: Melvin "Bobby" (Viola) Tucker, and Lafa-yette "Chuckie" Tucker; six grandchildren: Devon (LaShonda) Ward of Atlanta, GA; Lavon Tucker of San Antonio, TX; Shavon Tucker of Memphis, TN; Kimberly Lee-Hydara of Jefferson, Faye Tucker of Chicago, and Lafayette Tucker, Jr. of Chicago; nine great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister: Rosie Lee Tucker. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday September 21, 2012 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson with the Rev. Devon Ward officiating, burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be on Friday at the funeral home from 11:00a.m. until the time of services.
