Obituary of Sandra Lee Shannon

SANDRA "SANDY", L. SHANNON age 72 of Jefferson passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday July 13, 2012 at her home. She was born on February 11, 1940 in Rockford Illinois, daughter of the late John and Grace (Bott) Frohmader. She married Charles "Chuck" Shannon on June 24, 1959 at St. John's Rectory. Sandy was employed as the Nutritional Manager at the Jefferson Senior Center as for 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and found great pleasure in shopping at the Dollar Store, she also volunteered at Twice is Nice in Jefferson. Sandy was loyal Elvis Presley fan, and she would often be heard saying "yes, Elvis lives" She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jefferson. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 53years, Chuck Shannon. Her daughters Dawn (Jim) Renz of Jefferson, Tammy (Ed) Novotny of Watertown. Her grandchildren; John and Emma Novotny. She is also preceded in death by her sisters; Donna Torum and Peggy Weber. According to Sandy's wishes the funeral services will be private family services. We softly whispered to mom that when she reached heaven she should ask God to please send us some rain, and that is exactly what she did.
