Obituary of Robert Joseph Arndt

ROBERT J. ARNDT, age 83 of Jefferson passed away Saturday July 7, 2012 at Eagle View Manor in Jefferson. He was born on July 3, 1929 in Chicago Illinois, son of the late Joseph and Helen (Harper) Arndt. He married Marlene Moore on June 20, 1953 at Tacoma Washington; she preceded him in death on September 14, 1991. He served in the United States Army from 1951-1954 and received the National Defense Service Medal. Bob was employed as a Salesman at the Ryerson Steel Company in Chicago for many years. He was a member of the Jefferson Veteran of Foreign Wars Reinhardt-Windl Post 3589, and the Jefferson American Legion Post Endl-Gruennert Post 164. He is survived by his daughters; Deborah (Scott) Miller of Jefferson, Barbara (Bruce) Triolo of Colorado. Sons; Robert Arndt Jr. of Ohio, and Michael Arndt of Colorado. 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grand children. He is also preceded in death by his sister Nancy Skidmore. Memorial services will be held at Schneider-Michaelis on Thursday, August 9, 2012, following the visitation from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Private family burial will be held at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside Illinois. Memorials can be made to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson County.
