Obituary of Kathryn Ann Stelse

KATHRYN ANN STELSE, age 65, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Kathy, daughter of David and Ruth (Becker) Armstrong was born on October 24, 1946 in Fort Atkinson. She married the love of her life, David Stelse, on September 17, 1966 and soon after they started their life long journey into farming. Their marriage was blessed with three boys Mike (Shelly), Tony (Morgan) and Tim (Jen) and 14 grandchildren; Kyle, Ryan, Emma, Caleb, Cody, Abby Eddy, Brandon, Brody, Tatum, Olivia, Hannah, Owen and Molly. Kathy loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil. She and Dave enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas - one of their favorite places - and when Kathy couldn't get to Vegas, Ho-Chunk was a close second favorite. Kathy had a soft spot in her heart for animals, and she loved watching the many birds that she nurtured in the backyard. Grammy will always be remembered for her never-ending supply of M&Ms, her love of Christmas and how much she truly enjoyed the company of those around her. Kathy was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, and her strong faith helped her through her courageous battle with cancer. Kathy is survived by her husband Dave, her children and grandchildren, brothers Jerry (Sharon) Armstrong of Fort Atkinson, Denny (Victoria) Armstrong of Broomfield, Colorado and Rick (Vicky) Armstrong of Jefferson along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents David and Ruth (Becker) Armstrong, her brother Ron Armstrong and her sister Kris Gross. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Comstock officiating. A visitation will be held at Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Friday, July 6 at 10 a.m. until the beginning of the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rainbow Hospice, especially Chris and Terri, for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Kathy throughout the last 17 months.
