Obituary of Jean Joan Nelson

JEAN J. NELSON, age 83, of Juneau passed away Friday April 27, 2012 at the Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau. She was born April 14, 1929 in the Town of Koshkonong daughter of the late Francis J. Theresa (Fornecker) Willegal. She married Marland Nelson on June 16, 1951; he preceded her in death in January 25, 1984. Jean graduated from University Wisconsin Madison and during her life had been employed as a reading teacher, librarian, store clerk, and restaurant server. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek. Jean will be remembered as a very creative person who had a real zest for life and learning. She sewed her own clothes, was constantly challenging herself with new crafts, was an avid reader, kept up with friends through letter writing, grew her own herbs in Clearview's community garden, worked in Clearview's gift shop, and took advantage of every opportunity to participate in activities both in the nursing home and in the community. She is survived by her twin brother John (Delores) Willegal of Jefferson. Her son Edward Nelson of Milwaukee Granddaughters; Jamie Lyn Nelson, Stacy Nelson Great granddaughter: Alexis Salinas Several nieces and nephews The many staff members and community volunteers who worked at Clearview nursing home over the years She is preceded in death by her brother Francis Willegal Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday May 5th at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Petrie officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of Mass. Burial will be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery.
