Obituary of Joan Mode

JOAN MODE, 82 of Portage, formerly of Jefferson passed away on March 17, 2012 at the Tivoli at Divine Savior Healthcare in Portage. She was born on May 10, 1929 in the Town of Jefferson, daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Lembrich) Walther. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson. She was employed at St. Coletta of Wisconsin Alverno as a Certified Nursing Assistant from 1986-1998. Joan spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook, and an excellent seamstress. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her children; Ramona (Gary) Sonnenberg of New Ulm MN, Wanda (Keith) Guelzow of Portage, and Randall (Kathleen) Mode of Elk Grove Village, IL 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grand children. Sister; Mae Palm of Helenville, and brother; Warren (Rosalie) Walther of Helenville. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, and two brothers. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday March 24, 2012 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Wayne Mueller officiating, burial will be in the Zion cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m .until the time of service.
