Obituary of Jane Ann Stetzer

JANE A. STETZER; age 76, lifelong resident of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2012 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek. She was born on December 7, 1935 in Watertown, the daughter of Eugene and Ann (Richter) Frattinger. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1953, she worked for Stoppenbach's for several years where she was known for her fast shorthand skills. After raising her children, she worked for many years as Register in Probate for Jefferson County until her retirement. During the years that followed, she continued to keep in touch with the courthouse staff and what was going on there. Jane was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and for the voting polls in Jefferson. She took great pride in helping coordinate her high school class reunions over the years, and was also an active member at St. John the Baptist Church in Jefferson. She enjoyed knitting, reading, and socializing with her friends, especially at the neighborhood get-togethers. Jane was also a devoted mom and grandmother, which included attending the grandchildren's events. Jane is survived by her daughters: Sallie (Vidas) Enck of Albuquerque, NM and Christina (Hugh Schemmer) Wagner of Jefferson; 5 grandchildren: Luke, Misgana, Brittany, Macarthur, and Nicolas; her brother, Joe (Sue) Frattinger of Madison; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Mary Frattinger and Carole Chase; and her parents. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jefferson, with Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be held privately in the parish cemetery. Those wishing to express sympathies through donations in Jane's name may direct memorials to Rainbow Hospice or to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
