Obituary of Regina Mary Petty

REGINA M. PETTY, age 83, of Jefferson passed away Monday December 12, 2011 at Fort Atkinson Memorial Hospital. She was born October 23, 1928 in Hebron Wisconsin, daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Ann (Rhchowlski) Ropinski. Regina married Virgil Petty July 26, 1947 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson; he preceded her in death on November 1, 2008. Regina is also preceded in death by three brothers: Roman, Edward, and Franklin Ropinski. Regina was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Countryside Home for many years, retiring in 1990. She was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed keeping up on current events in the newspapers. Regina loved animals and was known for feeding birds and taking in many stray cats. Regina will be deeply missed by her children: two daughters, Irene (Donald) Moe of Placentia CA, Mary Petty of Jefferson; five sons, Wayne (Kathy) Petty of Madison, David (Julee) Petty of Placentia CA, Daniel (Deb) Petty of Jefferson, Joel (Veronica) Petty of Baraboo, and Steven Petty of Albuquerque NM; 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Julia Kexel of Fort Atkinson and Helen (Donald) Arndt of Jefferson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday December 17, 2011 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral home in Jefferson with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating. The burial will follow at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia. The visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.
