Isabell was born June 19, 1941, in Sidnaw, Michigan, the eldest child of Eugene and Clara (Splude) Mead. With the passing of her mother on Sept. 12, 1949 Isabell's family moved to the Johnson Creek area where Isabell had lived for the past 66 years.
In 1955 Isabell became a member of the Adam and Margaret (Pirkel) Neis family.
Isabell graduated from UW Whitewater with a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching and completed her Masters Degree in Education thereafter. Her commitment, dedication, and love of teaching were evident for she taught history for 35 years starting in 1963 at the Johnson Creek School District. Her joy of teaching extended to Extra Curricular activities at school including organizing and supervising school dances and other functions. She strived to always be there to mentor and support her peers.
Isabell loved to serve the Lord by giving her time and talents to many organizations. She had been a faithful member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church where she was a religious education teacher and served on numerous boards and committees. Isabell was a long-standing member of the National Education Association and the Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association. She was an active volunteer for Tomorrows Hope. She had served on the Johnson Creek Village Board. Her passion for History continued with her serving as a member of the Johnson Creek Historical Society. Her humility and generosity has touched the lives of many and will continue to do so.
Isabell was an excellent cook and loved to share her creations with her family and friends especially around the holidays, which will be greatly missed. Traveling to many destinations with her father, sister, and friends was a great source of joy for Isabell.
