Obituary of Ruth Kathryn Quest
RUTH K. QUEST age 80 of Johnson Creek passed away at her home on October 4, 2011
surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 25, 1931 in Johnson Creek, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary
(Gerhrke) Haumschild.
She married Charles R. Quest on September 10, 1949 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in
Johnson Creek. He passed away on November 16, 2006.
Ruth along with her husband Charles owned and operated the Hofbrau in Johnson Creek for six
years. Next they developed the Village Terrace Mobile Home Park, Johnson Creek followed by
their move to Arkansas where they owned and expanded the Leisure Hills North Mobile Home
Park in the Bull Shoals area. After the mobile home park Ruth and Charles bought 40 acres in
the Ozark Mountains and built a cedar log cabin. Fifteen years later they moved back to Johnson
Creek and developed the Back Acres Mobile Home Park. Ruth was an excellent seamstress, and
a wonderful cook and baker, she enjoyed knitting, gardening, and was an avid reader.
She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Johnson Creek and a member of
the Legion Auxiliary.
She will be deeply missed by her children;
Daughters, Linda Quest of Johnson Creek, Shirley (Harry) Shepherd of Johnson Creek, son
Michael (Kristina) Quest of Jefferson, Daughters Pat Quest of Tucson AZ, and Charlene
(Michael Duffy) of Madison.
11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Sisters; Ann Lee of Boscobel, Mary Revolinski of Newville, and Alice (Ed Foral) Ley of Oconto
Falls, Brothers; Lawrence Haumschild of Boscobel, Donald (Linda) Haumschild of Fort
Atkinson, Robert (Arlene) Haumschild of Johnson Creek, (Brother-in-Law John Wunderlin).
Ruth is also preceded in death by Sister Irene Wunderlin, Delores Buske, and Brother James
Haumschild.
Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday October 10, 2011 at St. Mary Magdalene
Catholic Church in Johnson Creek with the Rev. Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in
the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of Mass.
Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson is assisting the family with arrangements.
