Mildred Krull

Obituary of Mildred H. Krull

With grateful hearts the family shares that a few days after her 94th birthday on Sunday, December 31st, our beloved Mom, and Grandma Milly Krull passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 3, 2024.

Mildred H. Krull was born December 31, 1929, in Sun Prairie, daughter of the late John and Clara (Bronner) Wagner. She married Marvin Krull on June 29, 1957, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie, and they were blessed with 47 years of goodness in family and farm life until his death in 2004.

Milly attended Sacred Hearts K-8 School and then was a 1947 graduate of Sun Prairie High School. After high school, she worked at Renk Seeds in Sun Prairie and then as a secretary at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in Madison. Her friendly, quiet, and gentle way, and the focus of helping others were a constant throughout her life. Her service to others continued after her children were grown, when she took on roles as secretary for the 1984 Wisconsin Farm Progress Days held in Jefferson County, and as then became the church secretary at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Milly was also a cashier and volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul Society Store in Lake Mills for more than 20 years where she enjoyed many dear friendships.

Milly has been a wonderful, compassionate mother to her six children and a dear grandmother to her ten grandchildren, providing homemade meals and baked goods. During their childhood years, she kept busy running her children to their many 4-H, FFA, dairy, music, and school activities steadfastly providing the most unselfish love and commitment one could. She treasured raising her children on the farm and the work ethic and responsibility it taught them. She has loved seeing her children and grandchildren involved in farming and agricultural careers.

Milly was strong in her faith and devoted countless hours volunteering, especially with making meals and desserts for the priests, and in the church kitchen for funeral luncheons, bingo fundraisers, and the church festivals. She also delivered Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her children Susan (Richard) Schultz of Chilton, Robert Krull of Nashville, TN, Marcia Krull, Lake Mills, Julie (Kevin) Larson, Viroqua, and Jayne Krull, Lake Mills; daughter-in-law Cindy Krull, Lake Mills; daughter of her heart Theresa Cheng Borin (former AFS exchange student the family hosted), Issaquah WA, and her ten grandchildren Cassandra Krull, Bryce Krull, Carley Krull (Zach) Tolzman, Thomas Larson, Katherine Larson, Sara Marina Krull, Katelyn Krull, Brady Krull, Cayden Krull, and Grace Krull; her brother Francis Wagner, and sister Mary Grinsteiner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her beloved son Brian Krull, her parents, brother Vincent (Florence) Wagner, sisters Margaret (Henry) Stier and Genevieve (Dick) Halvorson, sisters-in-law Katie Wagner and Mardelle Stier, and brothers-in-law Joseph Grinsteiner and Dick Halvorsen.

The family will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Mills, and for the burial at the Aztalan Milford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Lake Mills FFA Chapter or St. Vincent DePaul Society, Lake Mills.

Milly will be deeply missed by her family. Blessed be her memory.  Online Condolences may be made at www.schneidermichaelis funeralhome.com
