Obituary of Myrtle Jean McDonald

 

MYRTLE JEAN McDONALD age 94 of Lake Mills passed away peacefully at  London Lodge in Cambridge on December 10, 2023 after a long battle with dementia.

 

She was born on November 22, 1929 to Frank and Emma (Heyer) Nelson in Redgranite, WI.  She attended schools in Redgranite, and later worked as a finisher at Schweiger Industries for many years.

 

Myrtle married Paul McDonald on July 12, 1958 in Madison. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1982.  She enjoyed embroidery, especially on dish towels and clothing. She also loved the outdoors and camping with friends and family.

 

Myrtle is survived by her children Connie (Mark) Stahl of Lake Mills, Mark McDonald of Lake Mills and Roger McDonald of La Crosse, WI; grandchildren Nick, Jon and Kyle Newton, Cody McDonald and Rachel Williams; great-grandchildren Tylor and Daytona Newton, Nora Newton and Kingston Williams and brother Gib Nelson.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, many brothers and sisters as well as her grandson, Matthew McDonald.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Schneider-Michaelis Funeral Home in Jefferson with Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Burial will follow in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
