Obituary of Mary Ann Lauritzen
MARY ANN LAURITZEN, age 84 of Fort Atkinson/Lake Mills passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek.
Mary was born on August 3, 1939, in Chicago, IL to Vincent and Josephine (Ferrett) Wisz. She attended Blessed Sacrament and St. Odilo Elementary Schools, St. Mary High School and Mundelein College. Mary married Eugene Lauritzen on June 1, 1963, at St. Odilo Catholic Church, Berwyn IL. She was a homemaker, religious educator and enjoyed singing, volunteering and collecting cookbooks.
Mary was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. She was a member of the choir, Parish Council, Liturgy Commission and served as Religious Education Coordinator for many years.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Donald Lauritzen (John Thompson) of IN; brother George Wisz of SC; sister Joan (John) Georgas of IL and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 7 brothers (Thomas, Richard, Norbert, Leonard, Edmund, Fred and Robert).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
