Obituary of Linda Lucille Owen

Linda L. Owen, 82, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 5, 2023 and moved on to her Heavenly home.

Linda was born on November 19, 1940 in Rhinelander, WI to Martin and Sue (Heisner) Langbecker. 

She attended Jefferson High School and graduated in 1959, at which time she started working at Arrow Inc. in Jefferson until 1970.

On May 6, 1967 she married Edward F. “Big Ed” Owen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.  They were married for 53 years until his passing in 2020.

A lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Evangelical Church, she was known for her strong faith in Christ and her kind and giving manner, always willing to help family members, friends, as well as strangers.

She loved being a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed greatly by many.

 Linda is survived by her children, Debra (Lee Anderson) Owen, of North Port, FL, Rebecca Owen of Jefferson, WI, Edward (Jennifer) F. Owen Jr., of Algoma, WI; grandchildren, Alexa (Nate) Zastrow of Waukesha, WI, Marcus Owen of Milwaukee, WI, Morgan (Shawn) Schnabl, of Brookfield, WI, Joe Delaney, of Milwaukee, WI; siblings, Michael Langbecker of Watertown, WI, Jeanne (Dan) Schwerdtfeger of Whitewater, WI, Phil (Lesia) Langbecker, of Orange City, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bruce Langbecker, David Langbecker, Martin Langbecker, Steven Langbecker; and sister, Gloria French.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Rainbow Hospice for their exceptional care for Linda and donations can be made in their name.

Funeral services are at 12PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.  Visitation will take place at 11AM until the time of service.  Burial will follow services at Rock River Cemetery in Jefferson. A luncheon will be served at the church following the graveside service.
