Obituary of Cindy Glab Langholff Blackmon

Cynthia (Glab) Langholff Blackmon, 76 of Lake Mills, went to her Eternal Home in Heaven on April 20, 2023, after a brief illness at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek with her daughters at her side.

Cindy was born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin on October 24, 1946. The eldest daughter of Joseph and Kathleen (Burke) Glab. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965. On August 6, 1966, she and Phillip Langolff were united in marriage. In 1976 they moved to Temple, Texas where she was a homemaker for her young family. In 1987 she began her career as a Housing Specialist for Central Texas Council of Government. She worked there until her retirement in 2008. In March of 1991 she married Walter Blackmon.

In 2009 she moved to Topeka, Kansas to be near her middle daughter. In 2022 she moved to Lake Mills to be closer to her daughter and siblings.

Cindy was very active in her relationship with her Lord. She was a Girl Pioneer Leader in Lake Mills. In Temple she was active in the Lutheran Woman’s Missionary Society holding many offices. She was also the church secretary preparing the weekly Service Bulletins. She also served on the Altar Guild. In Topeka she was a member of the Lydia Society and continued with the Altar Guild.

Cindy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and getting to know her young great granddaughters. She was also anticipating the arrival of her 3rd great grandchild in August.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, doing puzzles of any kind, watching the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR. You were not able to talk to her when the NASCAR race was on.

Cindy is survived by her 4 daughters, Kimberly Rylander, Lake Mills, Kristine Johnson, Wi Dells, Sarah (Donney) Kastner, Topeka, KS and Michelle ( Dave) Langholff of Charelstown, NH. Her son Timothy Langholff Boerne, TX. Her 7 grandchildren Elizabeth (Devin) Johnson, WI Dells, Aaron (Brandy) Richter, Thorndale, TX, Katie (Darien) Richter, Thorndale, TX, Lauren Kastner, Topeka, KS, Gabe Kastner, College Station, TX, Alyssa and Connor Fredric, Charlestown, NH. Great Granddaughters, Elyana Qualls, WI Dells, Scarlett Richter-Meraz, Thorndale, TX.

She is further survived by 4 sisters: Ann (John) Miller, Fort Atkinson, Mary (Antonio) Sella, Madison, WI, Linda (Hobie) Ratcliff, Kissimmee, FL and Rebecca Brown, Fort Atkinson; 2 Brothers: Richard (Sue) Glab, Jefferson and Francis (Bonnie) Glab, Green Bay; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cindy is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Kathleen Glab.

Funeral Services with be held on Wednesday April 26 at 11:00am at St. John’s Lutheran Church  Newville Road south of Waterloo, WI with the Rev. Kevin Hundley presiding. Visitation will be from10am until the time of the service.Burial will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Jefferson, WI. Schnieder-Michaelis Funeral home is assisting the family. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church- Topkea, KS or to  St. John Newville.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at UW-Meriter in Madison and Fort Atkinson Hospital for the care they took in caring for Cindy. And the staff at Rainbow Hospice for the care, understanding and love you showed for Cindy and Pastor Hundley for the comfort that you have shown during her illness.
